In 2010-2012, I worked with the Case IH AF8120, a pure American machine. It is an amazing piece of equipment. Very reliable, comfortable, and at the same time, easy to maintain and repair. After that, I worked with a John Deere combine and currently with a Claas Tucano, but in my opinion, even the Case IH machines from those years are better than many new combines. If we compare them to drum models, they may not be particularly suitable for dirty fields, but they are not designed for silage harvesting. The combines themselves are quite convenient to repair, with well-thought-out mechanics, no unnecessary shafts, bends, etc., and there is good access to the components.

Any case is fire. 2388 is the coolest since it does not have transverse rotating parts of the thresher and after its threshing, seed germination is almost 100%. Verified by personal experience. Very powerful, reliable and economical harvester. Those who blame the case with the cummins engine for overspending should check the turbine boost in the load ... they either have the boost controller arrow jumping, or the boost is minimal. In this case, there is an overrun. Another small reaper, below 7.6 meters on cereals, causes overspending, dirty grain and a dead suspension))

The spare parts cost a fortune. Combines are very demanding when it comes to maintenance; if you haven't inspected it in the morning, consider it done. The electrical system is extremely poor; there have been cases where the whole combine shut down because of a bulb short circuit in the rear light. Sensors and relays under the seat are constantly failing. For example, in most machines, the "copiers" don't work because of this issue. So think carefully about what to buy, otherwise you'll become a regular customer at the service center with your machine. In my opinion, it's better to purchase a Don or Niva.

I've been working with Case IH F2388 since 2008. The machine is similar to domestic ones in terms of operation, and that was important to us because it was not an engineer but an old-school mechanic who worked on it. The advantage is that it is a rotary combine, which suited us perfectly as we needed to work with corn. By the way, the sieve can be set in 3 positions, allowing us to work with many crops. There is a significant drawback: the machine consumes a lot of fuel. I do not recommend this model to novice farmers. I haven't noticed any significant differences between Case and our local combines. In general, the machines are good for the first two years, but then you'll end up dealing with fuel issues like all the other tractor operators.

I worked with these machines in 2000, the equipment was excellent, it went through the field like an F1 car. In general, these Case combines from the late 90s are still in operation, they were made very well back then. They are better than any other drum combines. The machine is a beast when it comes to corn, soybeans, and sunflowers. It worked extremely efficiently. As far as I know, they worked for about 10 years without any issues, just regular maintenance like lubrication. I tried working with a Don or Niva next to them, I don't really remember, but it was so funny to watch. The Niva was smoking in one place, while the Case was zooming like an F1 race car, you couldn't catch up with it.
